My hope is that this site will provide the knowledge and the inspiration for anyone who is looking to improve in any area of their life, whether that’s in terms of self-confidence, self-image, motivation, performance, productivity…anything that is commonly associated with personal development (executive decision to stick with that description).
I see this site as a work in progress; much as I see myself (as hopefully, you do). I don’t claim to be an expert, or have all the qualifications going. I’ve studied some NLP, taken some personal development classes, been to plenty of seminars and workshops, and read a sh*tload of books on the topic. Basically, I’m always trying to learn more, and I hope you are too.
That’s the whole point, really… isn’t it? To get better bit by bit; baby steps to having more confidence, being more productive, or having greater self-esteem. Not an overnight transformation into some kind of superhero, which is completely unrealistic, but slowly improving in the areas that matter to YOU. Not so that you can be like anyone else, but so that you can be the best version of yourself you can be a ‘success’.
How you define success is up to you. It could be by rising higher in your career, having better relationships with family, friends, or a partner, earning more money, being more productive, being willing to take more risks in life, or just having more confidence everyday; any number of ways.
Although there are a number of ways we can define success, we will concentrate on three key areas to achieve that success:
- Thoughts– our thoughts control everything about us, so it is vital that we learn to think in the most productive ways possible, eliminating the negative thinking that can hold us back and focusing instead on the positive thoughts that can propel us towards our goals.
- Goals – having something to aim for focuses our minds on what we need to learn or achieve in order to reach our goals.
- Time – time is more precious to us than money though we seldom realise it. We can replace money, but time… when it’s gone its gone.
As mentioned, I’m not claiming to be the finished product. Far from it. I’m hoping that together we can make this site a great resource for anyone who wants to live a better life, to enjoy life more, to get more out of life. I’ll be learning right along side you and I’ll be more than happy to hear any suggestions you have for articles or topics you would like to see featured.
